This is a vintage, two-part industrial air compressor and vacuum pump system. The vacuum pump is a Model 303-700H-I-N-30 made by Ohio Medical Products (a division of AIRCO) and assembled on April 30, 1968. It is powered by a General Electric Tri-Clad Induction Motor, model 5K143AL211, which is a 1 HP, 3-phase, 208-volt unit with a continuous duty cycle.
The entire system is mounted on a pressure vessel (tank) built by The Kargard Company in 1968. This tank has a National Board number of 325974, a working pressure of 125, and is rated for temperatures up to 650°F.
The unit also features a Mercoid vacuum control switch for automated operation. This switch is designed to handle up to 10 amps at 120V AC and a 1/3 HP motor on a single phase, ensuring the vacuum pump operates only when needed to maintain a set vacuum level.
